VETERANS WORKING GROUP

In 2013, more than fifty companies with strong commitments to veteran employment, including many Commercial Club members, came together to form the Veterans Working Group under the leadership of Chair David Hiller, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Robert R. McCormick Foundation.  The Veterans Working Group met regularly with Commercial Club members and area employers to encourage hiring of veterans and to share best practices with supporting veterans as they transition to civilian life, with the goal of making Chicago the most veteran friendly employer in the country. 

After a decade of progress helping Chicago companies implement best practices in veteran recruitment, hiring, and retention, the Veterans Working Group has sunset and its work transferred to the National Able Network with the support of the Robert R. McCormick Foundation.
